What is employee volunteering?

How can you and your colleagues help a local hospice?
There are many ways in which you and your colleagues might be able to help a local hospice, either individually or as a group. Contact your local hospice to find out what support they might need.

• promoting volunteering opportunities on your company's intranet site, notice-boards, newsletters, at staff meetings.
• stewarding at hospice events such as annual bike rides, balls, sports days
• painting and decorating and general maintenance
• gardening
• designing posters, promotional materials
• IT/website support

If you and your colleagues are interested in volunteering and supporting a local hospice you might like to receive a copy of a new video, which Help the Hospices and Rosetta Life have recently produced, as an introduction to hospice care.

Hospice: Patient and Carer Voices
"What does a hospice offer? What is palliative care? In this powerful video, hospice patients, carers, volunteers, consultants and hospice staff share their experiences. To obtain a copy, contact info@hospiceinformation.info
