Hospices need volunteers. Over 100,000 people volunteer in hospices across the UK. Hospices couldn’t continue to offer the current level of support to patients and their families without volunteers.
You can give your time, your skills and experience in many different ways. You can volunteer as a fundraiser, a gardener, a driver, a receptionist, a befriender, a musician, a hairdresser - to name just a few.
Hospice volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds from students to retired people, from people who volunteer job-related skills to those who simply give their time and enthusiasm to take on a job that needs doing.
Being a hospice volunteer isn’t a one-way street. Volunteers gain as well as give. It’s a chance to make new friends, face new challenges and learn new skills
